During installation you must observe all safety rules that apply to working with electricity, moving parts, and climbing on a ladder
Garage door openers come in many brands, shapes and configurations. Before installation, please get familiar with your garage door opener, read the User's Manual and identify all the connections and cables.

1. Locate the garage door opener wall switch wires at the garage door opener side.
2. Unplug the garage door opener power cord.
3. Install a 9V battery in the Novalert Garage Door Closer.
4. Using Velcro attach the unit to the garage door opener, GARAGE DOOR => arrow pointing to the top of the garage door.
5. Connect the two wires from the garage door closer to the two wires coming from the wall switch direct into the terminal block, or splicing the wires.
6. Plug the garage door opener power cord back into the outlet.
7. Test leaving the garage door open for about six minutes.
